WINNING MEANS BEING AN MULTI-MMA EXPERT
Street fighting is not considered fair fighting because it does not follow the rules of any martial arts. Nothing can be done to stop it if the fight goes out of control. The opponent can do anything to hurt you and drive you out of the fight. No martial arts program teaches how to save yourself and attack in a street fight.
Who can fight well in a street fighting situation?
A CONTEST WE COULD COMPETE IN
At AKAA Fightclub we've been racking our brains trying to come up with new formats for our end-of-season big match finales. Its all be done before - tag teams, doubles, cage fights, team rumbles, etc - surely fans are getting a little bored of watching our fighters smash themselves up against each other?
Instead of the usual match-ups, we're proposing to take on the new format that is taking over the world (and we might even become World Champions at it?!) - Push Up/Pie eating competition (search it on YouTube).
UFC NOT BAILING YET
The UFC will not be bailing as of yet, despite the huge number of problems that they have been facing. Even as the rest of the fight-frenzied Canadian market warms to the boiling point for mixed martial arts, the country’s third largest city remains weirdly standoffish. You could argue that leading up to UFC 115 in June '10 and Saturday’s UFC 131 that Vancouver has put on a tour de force performance of how not to be an attractive and accommodating host for live MMA shows.
EMELIANENKO CONTEST ANNOUNCED

BISPING DEMANDS APOLOGY
Michael “The Count” Bisping after finishing Jorge Rivera within a few rounds has demanded an apology for the video that was created by him earlier. It was a feeble ending to a verbal onslaught from both fighters. The fight was marred with a blatantly illegal knee from Bisping in round one, a knee that no doubt had an effect on the eventual TKO by the fired up Bisping.
SILVA READY FOR REMATCH
Antonio Silva has said that he is ready for a rematch with Fedor Emelianenko after his win. In fact, the Brazilian juggernaut is open to a rematch with the former PRIDE heavyweight champion, should the two meet again in the foreseeable future.
LOCAL FIGHTER GETS VICTORY
Anthony Gutierrez produced an impressive result to win a tough MMA match with ease. Just minutes earlier, Gutierrez had defeated Jacob Akin in a first-round technical knockout at the Titan Fighting Championships 16 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan.
Taking control of the second fight in an eight-fight professional mixed-martial arts card, Gutierrez had ignited the crowd with a dominating performance.
Gutierrez could hardly believe it — a 20-year-old kid from Lee’s Summit making his debut on the same televised card as a former Ultimate Fighting Championship champion.
MMA SANCTION IN NEW YORK UNDERWAY
UFC representatives are fighting to get MMA sanction at New York. Representatives of UFC visited Madison Square Garden on Thursday in their latest attempt to get the sport sanctioned in New York.
UFC president Dana White and Chairman/CEO Lorenzo Fertitta have been to New York the past few years, fighting to get their sport regulated. Each time they have been unsuccessful. But White and Fertitta are as confident they will find success this year. They are focusing on better educating politicians and general public of the economic benefits of sanctioning MMA.

A recent joint study by the MMA and Synovate indicates that about 30 percent of U.S. consumers are interested in mobile coupons.
